Yeni Chami (Yeni Valide Camii), Exterior View

The mosque was first commissioned by Valide Sultan Safiye and begun in 1597 by Davut Aga. Davut died in 1599 and was replaced by the architect DalgichAhmet Chavush. Work on the mosque ceased when Sultan Mehmet III died.
