Hoxie Slide Technology

Slide projection technology became popular in the US during the 1950. To view a slide, the user typically utilized a slide projector which allowed the viewing of 35 mm slides held in a carousel. To show slides in a class, the instructor selected and arranged the slides in the order desired. The images on the slides were then projected onto a wall or screen using the slide projector. In addition to slide technology in the classroom, individuals kept personal photographs on slides and showed them at home.  By the end of the twentieth century slide technology was being replaced with digital images stored on computers.
